How to set up a wireless ( WiFi ) network i.e. WLAN in Windows7 and Windows Vista !!!!
WLAN stands for " Wireless Local area network ".
Follow the steps to create WLAN :-
1) Open Control Panel>All Control Panel Items>Network and Sharing Center
click on "setup a new connection or network".
2) Select "Setup a wireless ad-hoc(computer to computer) network"
Click "Next"
3) Click "NEXT".
4) Enter network name.(you can enter any name you want to have e.g. "wireless HOME")
Select the "type of security" you want.
select either "WEP" or "WPA2" .
Check the "save this network box".
Warning: No authentication type is unsecured(any one can connect to you).
Windows XP does not support WPA2 type.
WPA2 is more secure than WEP.
5) Enter the password and remember it.
NOTE: This password will be used by others to connect to your network(i.e. "Wireless HOME" here )
Click "NEXT".
6) You can share the internet from here or you can refer to http://aimonsoft.blogspot.com/2011/04/how-to-share-your-internet-over-lanwifi.html to share your internet later.
(Optional) 7) If u want to share your internet now then click on "Turn on Internet connection sharing".
Then click on "close".
8)Click "Connect".
Your wireless WLAN network setup is complete now.
You can now use your wireless network(i.e. Wireless HOME here)
When the host connects to this network. All other computers will be able to see the network(i.e.Wireless HOME here) and would require the password to connect to this network.
